Description
Mountain Panorama is a hand printed reduction linocut in oil inks, on Fabriano Artistico paper.
From my studio window I am lucky enough to be able to see southern side of kunanyi/Mt Wellington across its foothills and the suburb of Kingston in the foreground. While I grew up in Hobart, I could never see the mountain from my home before moving here, and it has been wonderful to see how much the light changes from day to day and hour to hour. This artwork was inspired by the view of the mountain early on a cold winter day, with banks of mist drifting down the valley and over the top of the mountain and light filtering through the banks of cloud above.
