Mountain Panorama

Mount Wellington, also known as kunanyi, is visible from most parts of Hobart and its surrounding suburbs – including my home suburb of Kingston! It’s colours are ever-changing depending on the weather and time of day, providing endless inspiration from the window of my studio. For this artwork I used a series of snapshots of the sky during a typical cloudy winter morning, with clouds moving down a valley between the foothills. Sometimes most of the mountain was completely obscured so that it’s top looked like a small island in the glowing sky.
