On the seaward side of southern Bruny Island, Captain Cook Creek runs onto the beach of Adventure Bay. This artwork depicts the reflection of the opposite bank in the gentle waves of the otherwise glass-smooth water. The reflected colours were as clear and bright as the landscape above the water, while details of the trees and bushy understory contrasted strongly with the bright sky and distant mountain beyond.
