This artwork was inspired by the rippled reflections on the smooth surface of a creek at Adventure Bay, Bruny Island. During an early morning walk along the creek estuary, the water was glass smooth, and the reflections as clear and bright as the landscape above the water. A single pebble lobbed into the water caused ripples to fan outward, transforming the reflected image into shimmering concentric circles of sideways-shifted colour. My landscape artworks frequently explore the interplay of light on water surfaces, and here I used the distinct edges of the reduction linocut technique to emphasise the patterns of reflected light along the ripple lines of the water.
